A Korean monitor manufacturer has sold its Chinese factory
Samsung Display, a Korean company, has sold its LCD monitor production in Suzhou to a Chinese company specializing in the production of TiSiEl Technology displays. The Korean manufacturer, after selling its plant, bought 12.33% of the shares of TiSiEl Huaxing for 739 million USD.
Samsung Display has transferred 60% of the shares of the factory responsible for the end processes, as well as a 100% stake in the Suzhou postprocessor module factory, to the company TiSiEl Huaxing.
Samsung Display owned 60% of the factory's shares, while the remaining 40% belonged to Suzhou Industrial Park (30%) and China Star Optoelectronics Technology (10%), a subsidiary of TiSiEl Technology and the second largest display manufacturer in China. It is for this reason that TiSiEl was considered as the main candidate for the acquisition of an LCD manufacturing plant in Suzhou.
Samsung Display's Suzhou plant is its only 8.5-generation panel manufacturer in China. Although the plant can currently process up to 120,000 glass sheets per month, it is actually designed to process up to 160,000 sheets of glass per month. Since the company produces products with a diagonal of 32, 55 and 65 inches, which are the basic products on the market, its market value is also high. With the acquisition of the factory from Samsung Display, TiSiEl Technology will manage three production lines of the 8.5 generation and two lines of the 11th generation.
